At the Alamo: “Three Thousand Years of Longing”
October 2 @ 2:00 pm$10 general admission; $8 ages 2-17 and 62 and over; $6 Northeast Historic Film members
The Alamo Theatre in Bucksport is hosting screenings of “Three Thousand Years of Longing.”
While in Istanbul attending a conference, a woman happens to encounter a Djinn (Idris Elba) who offers her three wishes in exchange for his freedom.
This presents two problems. First, she doubts that he is real and second, because she is a scholar of story and mythology, she knows all the cautionary tales of wishes gone wrong. The Djinn pleads his case by telling her fantastical stories of his past. Eventually she is beguiled and makes a wish that surprises them both.
Tickets are $10 general admission, $8 for ages 2-17 and 62 and over and $6 for Northeast Historic Film members.
