Author Talk at Moore Library

Island Readers & Writers will bring author and illustrator Stephen Costanza to the Henry D. Moore Library in Steuben on Saturday, May 7, at 6 p.m. for talk about his picture book “The King of Ragtime.”

Costanza will share songs and slides to bring the audience into Scott Joplin’s world as he follows his life and talents from childhood to becoming a famed African-American composer. Quilts made by local quilters will be on display for this program, illustrating the kind of traditional craftsmanship, design and storytelling that Stephen drew inspiration from when he illustrated “The King of Ragtime.” Copies of the book will be available for purchase.
