Bar Harbor Garden Club Program
November 10 @ 1:30 pm
The Bar Harbor Garden Club is pleased to present “Designing Public and Recreational Spaces in Maine” with Samuel R. Coplon, FASLA Landscape Architect, on Nov. 10 at 1 p.m. at Birch Bay Retirement Village, 25 Village Inn Road, Bar Harbor.
Coplon is an award-winning landscape architect whose built works, community planning efforts and contributions to land protection have made a significant impact to the environments in which we live, work and recreate.
The club meeting begins at 1 p.m. All are welcome to join. The talk will follow at 1:30.
Referencing work from Sam’s 35 years of practice on MDI, the talk will focus on three
primary project types that have had a discernable public benefit – rehabilitation and
adaptation of existing public facilities for contemporary needs, the establishment of new public landscapes and the creation of places designed to enrich their communities.
