Blue Hill Community Issues Forum
April 10 @ 6:30 pm
The Blue Hill Community Issues Forum will continue on Wednesday, April 10, at 6:30 p.m. at the Blue Hill Public Library with a discussion of “Home Safety Challenges on the Peninsula.”
This forum will examine issues of crime, fire safety and aging in place as they affect households on the Blue Hill Peninsula. Including local experts and longtime residents, the panel will assess the dangers, resources and unique challenges of the area’s rural area. Members of the audience are encouraged to bring their own perspectives and join the conversation after the initial presentations.
Panelists will include Scott Kane, Hancock County sheriff; Denny Robertson, former Blue Hill fire chief and current harbormaster; Anne Schroth, program coordinator, Healthy Peninsula; and Kara Janes, program manager, At Home.
The series is organized and moderated by retired history professor Gregory Bush, with the goal of stimulating in-person civic dialogue about important but sometimes overlooked issues on the Blue Hill Peninsula, in Maine and across the nation.
