Lecture on Adelaide Pearson at Blue Hill Library
August 3 @ 7:00 pm
The Blue Hill Public Library will host Dr. Andrew Phelan on Wednesday, Aug. 3, at 7 p.m. as part of the first event in the Pearson Program Series. Dr. Phelan will speak on one of the library’s biggest and most storied patrons, and the namesake of this series, as well as the new event space, Adelaide Pearson.
Dr. Phelan will discuss Adelaide’s life, her travel and studies of foreign cultures, art and artifacts and her enduring determination to bring art and culture opportunities to Blue Hill that may not have been available otherwise. Adelaide Pearson had a long lasting impact on the Blue Hill Library and the Peninsula as a whole.
The Adelaide Pearson Program Series seeks to continue the work of Adelaide Pearson and bring art and cultural opportunities to Blue Hill that may not be otherwise available for people of all ages. This is funded by a generous gift from The Purvis Family.
This program is free and open to the public and will be held in the Adelaide Pearson Room. To join virtually, please register here: Zoom registration.
