Margaretta Days Festival and Craft Fair
June 18
An event every day that begins at 12:00 am, repeating until Saturday, June 18, 2022

Margaretta Days Festival is returning in June 2022! The festival will be held on the University of Maine at Machias campus on June 17 and 18. It promises to be more exciting than ever! The festival will commemorate the Battle of the Margaretta, the first naval battle of the Revolutionary War, and the Battle of the Rim, when the British returned for revenge but were defeated thanks to our allies, the Passamaquoddy, Maliseet and Penobscot tribes.
Organizations on display at the festival include local historical societies and the Revolutionary War Re-enactors of Downeast Maine including Patriots, British forces, Native Americans and the Daughters of the American Revolution.
Adding to the excitement, will be a large craft fair featuring a variety of skilled artisans showcasing and selling their wares. There will be music, speakers, children’s colonial-era games and horse-drawn carriage rides. Revolutionary era encampments with re-enactors will bring you back in time to 1775 to show you what it was like living and working in the colony in Machias. There will be a Revolutionary War skirmish featuring our own Revolutionary War Reenactors of Downeast Maine.
