Paint the Peninsula Reception and Auction Finale

Join us at the Blue Hill Public Library on July 16 for a fun evening from 5:30 to 8 p.m., the culmination of our weeklong Paint the Peninsula “fresh paint” online auction fundraiser, a much anticipated event every year!
Artists create their works in a six hour period sometime between June 24 and July 1, and over 100 works go up for auction online from Monday, July 11, to Saturday July 16, with paintings exhibited on the auction site as well as at the library where they can be viewed in person.
The auction will close at 7:30 p.m., during the reception, which will include wine, refreshments and music. Anyone attending the party whose bid wins can take their painting home with them!
The exhibit is a wonderful snapshot of life on the Blue Hill Peninsula and part of the excitement is seeing the expressive and diverse works created in just six hours! One of the unique features of this event is that emerging artists share the exhibit space with some of the region’s most celebrated painters. Proceeds are shared between the library and the artists, who choose what percentage they’d like to donate to the library.
