Poetry Reading in Brooksville

On Wednesday, Aug. 14, at 6 p.m., join poets Deborah Cummins and Elizabeth Rees for a summer poetry reading at the Brooksville Free Public Library. This event is free and is being sponsored by the library.
Cummins is the author of two poetry collections, “Counting the Waves” and “Beyond the Reach,” as well as a collection of linked, place-based essays titled “Here and Away: Discovering Home on an Island in Maine.” Her poems and essays have appeared in nine anthologies and more than 60 journals and magazines. She resides in Deer Isle and Portland.
Rees is the author of “Every Root a Branch” and three award-winning chapbooks, most recently “Tilting Gravity.” A fourth chapbook, “Hard Characters,” was published by March Street Press. She was a finalist for Nimrod’s 2018 Pablo Neruda Prize. She lives in Silver Spring, Md., and Blue Hill.
