Talk by Singer/Songwriter Danie Ocean
August 17 @ 7:00 pm

The Blue Hill Public Library will sponsor a conversation with Danie Ocean, a singer/songwriter from Philadelphia, on Wednesday, Aug. 17, at 7 p.m. Danie will speak on being a blind, queer, non-binary musician, and her journey, writing process, and how her music is a source of activism for herself.
Danie Ocean is a uniquely talented singer/songwriter based in Philadelphia whose music mixes early roots in RnB and soul with rootsy folk and rock and roll. Danie’s incredible new album “ALIVE” incorporates all these elements with jazz, hip-hop and avant-garde touches added to the mix, and finds the artist playing all the instruments as well as composing all the songs. Danie Ocean’s music is a marriage of an extraordinary and multi faceted 3+ octave vocal range with a writing style that is wise, heartfelt, deeply personal and unflinchingly honest.
This program is free, open to the public, and will be held in the Howard Room.
