The Jesup Memorial Library is hosting a talk titled “Local Fruits and Vegetables for Mainers in Need: Nutrition Incentive Programs in Maine” on Wednesday, March 14, at 7 p.m.
Learn about the ways nutrition incentive programs expand access to local food, increase sales for farmers and develop community connections. Shannon Grimes from Maine Farmland Trust and Emily Herwerden from Healthy Acadia will speak about how nutrition incentive programs work and what the programs are like in Hancock County and Bar Harbor. This talk is co-sponsored by the Bar Harbor Food Pantry as part of Hancock County Food Drive. Donations of nonperishable food will be accepted at the program.
