Teens and Tweens Workshop on Navigating Conflict
August 3 @ 11:00 am

From fiction to reality, come explore the journey of navigating conflict. On Wednesday, Aug. 3, at 11 a.m., teens and tweens are invited to join author Rivera Sun in the library’s Howard Room for a workshop about finding creative solutions to conflict and nonviolent problem solving.
Exploring the award-winning fictional novels of the Ari Ara Series, Rivera will use fun, fact and fiction to guide participants through a series of activities, games and role-plays. These beginner-friendly exercises will draw from practices in the magical and fantastical world of Ari Ara and tie the path of nonviolence (called “The Way Between” in the books) to our everyday lives. From fights with friends to arguments with siblings, this workshop is for all of us who have ever needed to find a way between the challenges that can come up in our home, school, and life.
Author/Activist Rivera Sun has written numerous books and novels, including “The Dandelion Insurrection” and the award-winning Ari Ara Series. She is the editor of Nonviolence News and the Program Coordinator for Campaign Nonviolence.
This program is free and sponsored by the library thanks to the generosity of the Friends of the Library, though registration is required. To register visit the library’s online calendar or call 374-5515. If you have any questions, contact Kendall at [email protected]
