Tuesday Morning Birding Field Trip
January 22 @ 8:45 am - 12:00 pm
An event every week that begins at 8:45am on Tuesday, repeating until Tuesday, February 12, 2019
The Schoodic Institute is sponsoring Winter Into Spring Tuesday Morning Birding Field Trips from January through April. Join Bird Ecology Director Seth Benz for any or all of these three-hour field trips that explore the nooks and crannies of Schoodic Peninsula in search of wintering birds. The trips are open to all skill levels from beginner to advanced birder. Pick up ID tips, learn about the institute’s “Bird Schoodic” projects, gain insights into the latest buzz in conservation news and automatically participate in the institute’s research and data collection efforts.
Each field trip will meet at and travel by van from Schooner Commons on the institute campus. Park in the North Lot near the Schooner Commons dining hall. The trips run from 8:45 a.m. to noon. There will be a complimentary hot beverage at 8:45 in the Schooner Lounge. The cost is $10 per field trip. Pre-register for any five field trips and get a sixth one for free.
Pre-registration is requested by calling Michelle Pinkham at 288-1356. Trips are limited to 12 participants. Participants are reminded to dress for the weather and bring binoculars (we have a few loaners). We will provide a spotting scope and participants are certainly welcome to bring your own if you wish.
