Bucksport and Orrington are two towns that have the potential to lead Maine’s economic recovery and the development to keep and return our youth for good-paying jobs.

With AIM, Whole Oceans, Maine Maritime Academy coming to Bucksport, PERC, the town owned 163 acres and the plant cleanup in Orrington, Maine can prosper. Both towns have great assets in place; deep water, improved power lines, rail, roads, gas lines, power generators, TIFs and a renewed optimism to make things happen. My job is to assist via Augusta. My seat on the Environment and Natural Resources Committee allows me to be networked into the public policy process to encourage and affect the future of Municipal Solid Waste and other important issues.

The Clean Election law must change. Candidates can’t have signs closer than 250 feet to the polling place, can’t wear a button or campaign at the polls, yet this election cycle a candidate could be found exchanging $5 bills on the floor of the polls raising money for their campaign. I have a bill in to make that absolutely illegal!
