Candidate Statement

After living in Maine for 22 years, and visiting before that time, I’ve experienced the upside and the downside of life in our state and want to bring more of the upside to my district and the entire state. That will include increased rural public transportation so our neighbors can have reliable means to get to work, do errands and socialize; increased allocation of educational funding for vocational/technical high schools and community colleges, as well as access to apprenticeship programs that offer opportunities specifically geared towards the current job market; serious programmatic goals to combat climate change; criminal justice reforms eliminating convictions for those who were convicted of non-violent marijuana crimes that are no longer criminal under the current law; and protection for Frenchman Bay’s ecology and economy.

As the current chair of the Harbor Committee of Bar Harbor, and the former chair of the Planning Board, I am an experienced citizen leader. I will be accessible to all residents of my district and open to ideas, suggestions and criticism, as I bring the thoughts, needs and hopes of my district’s residents to the State Legislature. I hope to get your vote on Nov. 3, 2020.
