Candidate Statement

For the past two years I have proudly represented the citizens of Maine State Senate District 6, which includes all of Washington County and the communities of Gouldsboro, Sullivan and Winter Harbor in Hancock County. When I was elected in 2018, I strongly felt it was my job to be there in Augusta to represent my district which is why I made it a point to have a 100 percent attendance record. I am running for reelection because I want to continue to be my constituents’ voice in Augusta. I will continue to draw on my experiences as a small business owner for more than 12 years, a corporate management specialist for more than 30 years; a hospital trustee for more than eight years, a former city councilor for nine years and a mayor for two terms to protect the best interests of my constituents. With the support of the voters, I will continue to fight for common sense priorities such as small businesses and the jobs they create, our roads, broadband expansion, education, protecting our elderly, and ensuring rural areas continue to have access to quality health care.
