I am Nicolas Delli Paoli, a candidate for the House seat in District 130, which includes Bucksport and Orrington. As a trained mediator, non-partisan activist, and sustainable community developer, I’m focused on issues that neighbors face and solutions that enhance our society, economy, and environment. I’m done with status quo politics and politicians who follow party lines and corporate interests. Standing up to insurance and pharmaceutical companies by supporting Medicare-for-All is my primary goal. I want to use our collective voice and capital as leverage in negotiations with pharmaceutical companies and hospitals.
I will support bringing manufacturing jobs to Maine, assist in localizing our supply chains so we are resilient and keep money here, and give incentives and breaks to small businesses. I also support a consumer-owned renewable energy infrastructure so Mainers’ money gets invested back into our economy, not to multinational corporations. Increasing our tax base and supporting local economies requires investments into low- and middle-income housing so people stay and come to Maine. I advocate for adopting restorative justice practices because they decrease reincarceration rates, saving taxpayers’ money, and helping offenders reintegrate into society. I would be honored to have the opportunity to serve Bucksport, Orrington, and Maine.
