Candidate Statement

I was invited to share a few words to explain why I am seeking another term in the Maine legislature. I could say I only need 10 words – the names of my 10 grandchildren. It is important to me that Maine provides an environment of excellence in safety, education and work. I have lived in Maine my whole life with the exception of one year at Pratt and Whitney in Connecticut right after I graduated from college. Being away that year made me want to return to be a part of what Maine stands for. Subsequently, I was a contractor for 25 years, served as selectman for 11 years, served in the Legislature in the 1990s, as well as currently serving in the Legislature, and have served over 30 years as town meeting moderator in many of the towns I represent. I want to continue to make Maine great. I want to help make it sustainable for generations to come. With my experiences and my connection to Maine’s hardworking people, I feel I can take the peoples’ concerns and suggestions to Augusta to make a difference during these tough times.
